Here it is, two days into a fresh new year … aaaand, now what? The only thing the changing of the calendar year has done for me is to serve as a reminder that I failed horribly at some of my goals from last year. Interacting on social media, for instance. I continue to be a social media slacker and don’t post anything at all on any of my sites. This will be the first sign of life online for me since April of 2022. I just … I don’t know … it just seems like too much sometimes. Too much of everything. Don’t get me wrong, I still have the desire to interact on social media, but I can’t find the will to actually do so. *shrugs* Maybe I should give up and accept it isn’t who I am. I’m not going to ever have a ton of exciting content either. I would be happy simply writing books and publishing them. I don’t want to be known publicly. I want my work to be known. After all, my work is much more personal than any public persona I could put out there. Because let’s face it, no matter how genuine and truthful someone is online, there will always be some sort of persona presented … a mask of some sorts. What you see online is not 100% the truth even if it is not a lie either. I mean, do any of us actually laugh out loud when we post LOL? That’s what I thought. Heh. But a novel, even fiction, is a little piece of my squishy innards ripped out and presented for others entertainment. You tell me which one is more authentic under the circumstances. Clearly I have my opinion.
So, yes, to my point. it’s 2023. Now what for me? I’m not exactly sure over all, but I do know I’m very excited about my current WIP. It’s another stand-alone romance novel tentatively titled Replayed. I’ve only just begun writing it recently, but with the 2022 holiday season in the rear view mirror I intend to really get to it in the next few months. The plan is to release it in early summer, if all goes smoothly that is. Fingers and toes crossed.
I don’t have much else to share at the moment. I simply figured it was time I posted something on at least this website.
Until next time (however long that is),
Love to all,
